Questions and answers
What is Diabetes Structured Education?
Structured Education Programmes are like mini-courses you can do in your own time. They help you understand how diabetes affects your body. This is vital to help you take control of your own health and avoid situations that could harm you.
Some programmes are online and can be completed in your own time, such as My Type 1 Diabetes and The Healthy Living NHS Programme (for Type 2).
Face-to-face courses are also available if you are referred by your GP.
What do I do if I lose my insulin pen?
Contact your GP and ask to reorder an insulin pen from your repeat prescription.
What should I do if my glucose meter is faulty?
If your meter stops working, check your manufacturer and call their helpline. The issue can be due to battery failure, and your manufacturer can often supply a replacement.
