Children’s Community Nursing Training and Resources

For:

The Children's Community Nursing (CCN) Team provides training and support to professionals who care for children and young people with a range of health needs. Our training aims to ensure children can safely access education, leisure and community settings.

About this service

In addition to bespoke training for complex health needs, we offer monthly training sessions on Anaphylaxis Management and Seizure Management.

These sessions are available to staff working in: Early Years settings, Passenger Transport services, Holiday Clubs and Short Breaks services and Statutory, non-statutory and voluntary sector organisations.

Our monthly Clinical Theory Days are delivered as two separate training sessions: Anaphylaxis Management and the Use of Adrenaline Auto-Injectors - For professionals supporting a child or young person with a severe allergy for whom an adrenaline auto-injector (for example, EpiPen®, Jext® or Emerade®) has been prescribed.

Buccal Midazolam Administration for Seizure Management - For professionals supporting a child or young person with epilepsy or seizure disorders for whom Buccal Midazolam has been prescribed as rescue medication. Staff only need to attend the session(s) relevant to the child or young person they support.
